When the fires come, everything as we know it will be destroyed. There will be no stock exchange, no banks, no cash investments. Money will have no meaning. All you own will be reduced to whatever you’ve managed to squirrel away within your survival shelter. The things that once held great value to you may suddenly be meaningless in the new world.

Right now, while the world seems normal, money holds a high point of value. You work hard, you earn and save and spend it on what matters to you. It’s okay to take pride in that, but monetary wealth and an attitude of capitalism and entitlement cannot serve you within the dome society.

You’ve heard it said that it takes a village and within the dome there is nothing more true. As a collective society, dome members will work together to ensure the perpetuation of the human race, investing in personal relationships in such a way to build trust and true bonds. There will be deep friendships and assigned mentors. No one will navigate the time alone. With little to no value being placed on possessions, the real treasure is revealed as the relationships we build with one another. With harmony as a goal, the need for personal items is inconsequential. Each resident will want for nothing but also only be given what they need, playing an equal part in the provision of the whole. When value is placed on the person over the thing, an ideal community will blossom.

If you’re not ready to let go of capitalist ideals, that’s okay. Most of the world feels that way. A time may come when that may serve you very well, and I hope your choice paves a path for a bright future.

Good luck and godspeed.
